Donna Scheeder

Former Acting Law Librarian of Congress

Donna Scheeder has worked at the Library of Congress for over forty years.  Early in her career, Donna was an early champion of the integration of computers in libraries, and she introduced the concept of electronic briefing books for Congress.  Over the years, she has guest-lectured on the management of legislative libraries around the world, and she is the former President of the Special Libraries Association.  Donna served until recently as the Acting Law Librarian of Congress, and she was awarded the Federal Librarians Achievement Award in 2009.  Outside of her work, Donna is highly involved in the Washington, DC, community, serving on the board of the Old Naval Hospital Foundation and as Chair of the Eastern Market Community Advisory Committee.
